I recently reviewed an app that some readers expressed concerns about permission requests and its use of ads in the notification window. While I often warn about checking permissions prior to installing, I wasn’t concerned with this particular app being a threat.

Comcast Xfinity Voice subscribers get free texting to Canada, China, Brazil – Mexico & more coming

Comcast has announced that subscribers to its Xfinity Voice home phone service can now send free text messages to select international markets. The company often parodied as “Kabletown” on 30 Rock says subscribers can enjoy free SMS to anyone in the U.S., Brazil, Canada, or China, with several more countries set to launch soon. The free texting program is open to anyone who subscribes to Xfinity Voice or through Comcast’s Triple-Play service

Temple Run arrives on Android, better late than never some say

As expected, Imangi Studios delivered on their promise to bring Temple Run to Android on March 27th.  As the calendar turned from yesterday to today, Temple Run became available for download through the Play Store — much to the happiness of Android device owners.  It has received an average rating of 4.4 in the Play Store so far, with many of the comments being positive
