Motorola reveals more details surrounding ICS upgrade time frame for various devices

Throughout the next couple of months, Motorola engineers will be hard at work implementing Android Ice Cream Sandwich on various devices.  Android 4.0 already began rolling out to the Motorola XOOM WiFi model in January in the United States, but that is the only Motorola branded device so far running the latest version of Android.

The new Motorola Droid 4 Android-based smartphone has only been in the market for a few days, but a bunch of enthusiastic developers have already managed to pull off an important update that should interest all you early adopters out there. A few modules are available for download at the OPPtimizer Project’s Google Code site and these make it possible for the 1.2 GHz dual-core TI OMAP4 processor powering the Droid 4 to be overclocked to 1.4 GHz

Google responds to Google Wallet hacking claim, points out the obvious

A security company announced yesterday that it has discovered a “significant vulnerability in the Google Wallet mobile phone payment system.” The company found that a Wallet PIN is susceptible to a brute force attack – trying all possible key combinations until the PIN is discovered – that can make it possible for thieves to make purchases with a Google Wallet-enabled phone.

Verizon: Double the data and BOGO for DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX starting Friday

Verizon Wireless announced the availability of its upcoming Motorola DROID 4 smartphone earlier today.  The DROID  4is going to launch on February 10th for $199 on a two year contract, as reported by Andrew.  However, this Friday not only marks the launch of the DROID 4, but will be the date Verizon reintroduces double the data and begins its BOGO promotion on the DROID RAZR series.

Motorola Droid 4 confirmed at $199, on sale February 10

Motorola and Verizon have confirmed the price and launch date for the Motorola Droid 4. Set to go on sale beginning Friday, February 10, the Droid 4 will cost $199 on a two-year agreement. The Droid 4 has access to Verizon’s 4G LTE network, so its comforting to see the company offer a premium LTE phone under the $200 mark.

HTC hopes Mobile World Congress phones will reverse disappointment of 2011

HTC reported its Q4 2011 earnings today, and revenues predictably took a dip. The company lowered expectations weeks ago and said it would report lower revenues, but no one knew to what extent. After seeing very strong quarters in Q2 and Q3 of last year, HTC fell to $101.42 billion NT last quarter

Why is RIM giving Android devs free Playbooks? Look at the latest comscore results.

To our readers who happen to be Android developers, I hope you know that RIM wants to give you a free BlackBerry Playbook. VP of Developer Relations Alec Saunders has said that Android developers who repackage their apps and submit it to BB AppWorld will get a free Playbook. Sounds like a great deal, but with several hundred thousand apps in the Android Market, a huge number of developers might take RIM up on that offer.
