Gowalla is going dark next month thanks to the company being acquired by Facebook. A report from CNN over the weekend suggested that Facebook had purchased the Austin-based company, and founder Josh Williams has posted a blog confirming that the Gowalla team will join Facebook and shut down the service at the end of January

Japanese company KDDI today announced a ridiculously slim 4-inch AMOLED phone dubbed the Arrows ES IS12F manufactured by Fujitsu. When I say slim I mean it, this handset measures only 6.7mm at its thinnest point, which is 0.4mm thinner than the Motorola Droid RAZR . The IS12F weighs 105grams and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
