Yes, the HTC Thunderbolt will receive Android 4.0 later this year. HTC has previously stated that select phones would be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich, but some notable exceptions were left off the list of devices. Today, the company confirmed on Facebook that Verizon’s Thunderbolt would be among the list of phones that can expect an update.

Android 4.0 and 1.5 have about the same number of users in latest platform versions chart

The same amount of people running the latest version of Android is identical to number of users on one of the oldest versions. The Android Platform Version chart has been updated, and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) has a 0.6 percent share of Android Market visitors, which is the same amount for Android 1.5 (Cupcake). Android 4.0′s share is predictably low considering that this is its first appearance on the chart. The number of Android 4.0+ devices is sure to rise once more tablet makers begin rolling out Ice Cream Sandwich updates to their tablets

Samsung reportedly confirms Galaxy Nexus launch will occur in December, adds to the frustration

Verizon Wireless passed up its chance on the Samsung Galaxy S II because it new it was going to launch a different killer Samsung smartphone — namely the one attributed to the pure Google experience.  The Samsung Galaxy Nexus was unveiled over a month ago, and while the model in the United Kingdom already launched, it has yet to be seen on American shores.  In fact, even Canadian carriers quickly jumped to their respective websites informing customers of launch dates and other information.
