Netflix focused on better content, mobile, and international expansion to rehab its image

Netflix announced its Q1 2012 earnings today, generating $870 million for a reported $5 million net loss on the quarter. Though revenue was not as bad as some analysts had predicted, the company continues to turn around last year’s poor handling of higher prices, expired content deals, and a failed attempt to split Netflix into two companies focused on streaming or DVD rentals.

Amazon Appstore generates almost 4x as much in-app revenue as Google Play

We’ve heard complaints about the store still being limited only to the U.S., unfair payment practices, and not providing the same development tools that are available in Google Play. However, according to Flurry Analytics, Amazon is supplying some developers with something the Play Store doesn’t – money

Sony confirms Android 4.0 upgrade dates: April to June depending on device

Sony originally said that it would update all 2011 Xperia phones at some point in 2012. Despite making that promise for all phones, and pledging to stick to it, the company formerly known as Sony Ericsson now says that it will narrow the update window for one group of devices and extend the waiting period for another. On the official Xperia Product blog , Sony Mobile team member Anthony says that Sony will push an update for Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in mid-April
