Rumor: Fujitsu to unveil quad-core ICS smartphone with 13.1 MP camera at the MWC

The countdown until the official start of the 2012 MWC is set to start and rumors, leaks and speculations of all sorts will most likely come our way up until the last minute before the Spanish event. One of the most exciting rumors of late points towards the unveiling of a monster of a smartphone running Android Ice Cream Sandwich and featuring among others a quad-core processor and a 13.1 megapixel camera. The manufacturer behind the making of such a beast is Fujitsu, according to the guys at unwiredview.com , but for the time being, as we have nothing official and not even a leaked picture of some sort, this rumor should be regarded as a not-very-possible thing to become reality

ASUS Transformer Prime bootloader unlock tool now available

Folks weren’t happy when they discovered that the ASUS Transformer Prime shipped with a locked bootloader. Users launched a flood of complaints to ASUS’s social media channels, eventually leading to a reversal and promise that an unlock tool would be delivered soon. ASUS has released the unlock tool for the Transformer Prime (TF201) here

LG announced today the Optimus 3D Max, a thinner, faster, and slighty more feature-rich successor to last year’s model. NEC showcases three smartphones in Japan, set to be on display at the MWC as well

NEC is a leading smartphone and tablet manufacturer in Japan, but for the time being their products are still unknown to the European and American public. That might well change in the near future, as no less than three NEC smartphones have been shown at a conference in Japan today with the promise that all three will be on display in Barcelona for the 2012 MWC event next week. All three gadgets are unnamed for the time being and have been teased at the conference by some of their most important features.

Comcast launches Netflix competitor this week, Android support coming later this year

Cable, phone, and Internet service provider Comcast is set to take on Netflix with a new on-demand movie and television streaming service known as Streampix . Available in addition to its XfinityTV streaming service, Streampix will expand the viewing options available to Comcast subscribers.

Huawei 10-inch tablet leaks, looks like a winner with a slim body and Android ICS

If you aren’t already fed up with pre-MWC rumors, speculations and announcements, we have today for you one of the most interesting leaks of the past few days. A supposed 10-inch Android-based tablet from Huawei is shown in some photos picked up by the guys at hi-tech.mail.ru and, even though most of its tech specs are unknown, the gadget makes us at least curious. With a super-slim body and set to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, the 10-incher from Huawei might be the Chinese company’s first decent effort in the tablet market.
